If there are GPS tracker products with or without a paid subscription on the market, it means there are significant differences between these products that are important to understand.

• The first difference is that a GPS tracker without a subscription does not have an approved monitoring center to recover a stolen vehicle. In Belgium, they are ineffective for vehicle security and are generally not intended for this purpose.
• The second difference is the network they use. In most cases, for cost reasons, GPS trackers without a subscription use the Sigfox network to locate the vehicle. This network is less powerful, less present (antennas) and less precise than the EDGE or 4G cell phone network.
